At the end of grade one they have an alphabet countdown to the summer. Emilee wanted to sign up to bring the treats in a few days. One pick was J day - and of course you have to take jello. Mom tried to make some shapes but those were fails so it was just squares. We did do layers of colors although they are hard to see in the picture. Emilee had fun and said she actually enjoyed eating the jello (that's a new one for her!).
Elizabeth is such a funny poser! She has refused to wear jeans since she's had an opinion on her clothes. We aren't sure if it was comfort or just following Emilee's lead of her dislike of jeans. One random day Elizabeth decided she wanted to be "just like Mom" and wear jeans. (Mom practically lives in jeans) And on that day she decided that she likes to wear jeans! What a funny girl! She looks so grown up in jeans and Mom was super glad she hadn't given them all away already!
The grade 3's are learning about life cycles and so they had some chick eggs. They watched them in the incubators for a long time before they finally started to hatch. Cera was so excited and had to take her sisters in for a look.
Cera was a great big sister - she made sure they all got a turn to hold one and knew exactly how to hold them for safety and comfort of the baby chicks.
The grade 3's had fun learning more about taking care of the chicks and then they had to go back to the farm they came from to grow some more. It was fun for the kids and they were so excited and learned lots about life cycles. (They might have learned more than planned if they knew the whole truth - most of their eggs did not hatch for reasons unknown so the teachers got together and "borrowed" some chicks from a friends' farm. They didn't want the kids to be too crushed to learn their chicks had not made it. Aren't teachers the best!?!)
