Poor Em

We went for yet another chest x-ray for Em to make sure her pneumonia was cleared up.  We were sure it would be clear as she has been feeling better and full of energy to do everything everyone else was doing.  The doctor has also listened to her lungs and they sounded better.  We were super sad to get a follow up call the next day that her lungs still were not fully clear.  The doctor said to let her do whatever she wants and let her body decide when it needs her to slow down and take a break.  Hopefully this bug will clear soon!

Holy Hail!

One day after school we received a call from Grandma to get our car moved into the garage as soon as possible as hail was on its way.  Boy was she right!!  Cera tried to run out and cover the garden but the hail just pounded the few sheets she got up down.  Our backyard looked like a snow storm had blown through!  After the storm the girls headed out to shovel off the trampoline as it was hanging down so far from the weight.

Luckily Mom was able to get her car mostly into the garage before the hail started coming down.  The hail was so hard and fast it was bouncing into the back of the garage before the door closed.  It also really hurt to get hit by it!  Our poor tree took the brunt in the front yard.  Our sidewalk almost looked similar to fall with all the leaves that had been knocked to the ground.

Our street even started flooding due to poorly park vehicles, blocked drains and the speed the hail came down.  Luckily it didn't get too much worse than this and started to drain after this big truck moved.  It was a crazy half hour storm!  It sounded like the hail was going to come through our roof and windows.  Nature can be scary, powerful and unpredictable but also amazing!

Year End Wrap Ups, Field Trips and Sports Days

The end of the school year always brings lots of play and fun!  Cera and Emilee had a fun sports day.  Although it was a little chilly, the kids wore sweaters and still enjoyed themselves minus the water games they cancelled due to the cold.  You can see Emilee going down the slide with her green sweater on and arms way up in the air!

When we found out that the cold/not feeling well that Emilee has been fighting for weeks is actually pneumonia and that she should take it easy - we were sad for her to miss out on the fun year end activities.  So Mom took Emilee to enjoy a few hours at the Bar-u-ranch with her class.  It was hard for Emilee to take it easy and leave when her class was still there.  But she was grateful to be able to spend sometime there.

She especially enjoyed seeing the horses there, learning about all the jobs they helped with years ago and checking out their stables.

Elizabeth also had a fun sports day at her school.  Mom was able to volunteer for the morning and help the kindergarten class enjoy all their sport stations.

They worked their muscles in multiple games of tug-o-war.

Elizabeth did great in the sack races!

The grade 4's headed for an afternoon of swimming to celebrate their year of hard work!  We are especially proud of Cera as she had a tough year with multiple changes of teachers and teaching styles/expectations.

Elizabeth also went to a fun fashion birthday party.  When the parents arrived to pick up the kids they were treated to a runway show with the birthday girl sharing one thing she really liked about each friend she had invited.  It was cute!

With all the year end partying/playing the girls were tired and sometimes sleep in the afternoon won out!

Mom was also able to tag along on a grade 4 outdoor field trip.  They spent the day learning about trees and plants and identifying them.  After lunch they played the animal game and had a blast using up tons of energy!

It was a great day, perfect weather and a glimpse into what outdoor ed class could hold for them next year.

Elizabeth has had  a wonderful year in kindergarten.  She's loved her teacher and was super sad on the last day as she will be moving to a different school.  We had to explain to her that even if she stayed at her current school she would still have a new teacher.  Change can be hard for all of us!

Elizabeth was excited to have her teacher paint Zuma on her face on the last day of school.  Paw Patrol makes everything better!!

Here's to another great school year completed!!

End of Gymnastics....Again

This session felt like it went forever!!  Maybe because it is the end of the year and we are just ready for the fun of summer!  The girls all enjoyed their coaches and learned and improved.  Way to go ladies!

Elizabeth is our little monkey that loves to swing on the rope!

Cera loves to do flips on the tramp and often practices at home.

Love and Joy

Mom made a deal with Dad that he could go fishing one day if he would happily (keyword!) go take family pictures the next.  (She needed an updated one for a mission reunion she was headed to this summer)  We headed out to our friends place to take some pictures.  Of course our first stop had to be to feed and say hi to the horses.  The girls sure do love these guys (and we think these guys love the carrots and apples too)!

We sure love having these girls in our family.  They each bring such fun and unique attributes and challenges.  Cera is kind and loving.  She does like to push her sisters buttons but when it comes down to it, she will usually take the short end of the stick so the other two are happy.  She likes to watch videos about science and crafts and loves to read.

Emilee is sensitive and caring.  She wants to be friends with everyone and make sure they are happy.  Although we feel she is over emotional at times, she feels for others and therefore is more understanding.  She loves to cuddle with her stuffies and can't get rid of any as they all have meaning to her.  Emilee likes to play minecraft, watch videos about minecraft and science and sing karaoke.

Elizabeth is cuddly and loving yet stubborn.  She is happy to play by herself but also loves for her sisters to join in her games and imagination play.  She loves to do whatever her sisters do and cannot live without her stuffies.  Elizabeth is smart and picks up on things quickly when she wants to.  She has strong opinions and makes us laugh daily with the random things she says.

We sure do love our girls and are grateful for each of them and the things the teach us.  Like most siblings they fight but for the most part they get along.  They love each other and have fun together.  The best is to hear them work together, laugh and play together.  Music to any parents ears!

We sure are blessed as a family and grateful for all that we have - especially one another!

Lemonade Day

After months of attending classes, making decisions, tasting lemonade combinations and advertising - it was time for the big day!!  Dad was sure ready to attract the customers that were driving by!  Isn't he the cutest lemon you've ever seen!?!

The girls had a great selection of drinks and baked goods for their customers to pick from.  They also decided last minute to make thank you pictures to hand out to their customers.  It was a great idea to make their customers feel appreciated and remind them of the lemonade stands name for next year!  Good thinking girls!

We had an early visit from lemon head as we were still setting up (especially because our stand had just been blown over by the gale force winds we had that day!)

We were very grateful for the manager of the Mac's store for letting us setup outside his store.  It was a great location off a main road with lots of vehicle and foot traffic.  He also let us use his plug ins to power our blender.  Thanks for helping making this day a success!!

Cera was pretty good at helping her customers.  She had to pull out a calculator when some of the bigger orders came in!  Poor Emilee (who you can kind of see in the chair in the background) still didn't feel great and had to leave early to go rest at Grandma's.  (We found out later that she was fight pneumonia - no wonder she wasn't her bubbly self!)

It didn't feel like a very hot day as it was so windy but Mom found out the sun was still working hard when she got home and noticed her legs!  Ouch!

The girls had to complete a form on what they did well, what they learned and how they felt about their lemonade day experience before their wind-up party.  At the party they enjoyed some games, hot dogs and they won Rookie Stand of the Year!  We didn't get a picture at the actual moment as Emilee was not able to be there (due to still being sick) but the girls got a ribbon, a silver piggie bank and $50 to share.  Way to go girls!!  They are already planning for their stand next year.

We are so grateful for family and friends that helped make this experience so great for the girls.  For all the pre-work that went into the day and all the wonderful people that came and bought lemonade and treats from the girls.  The day was a success because of each of you!!  Thank you!!!

A Great Start!

We've had such a great start to this month!  Elizabeth wanted to be a lemonade cup in order to draw people to their stand.  Mom helped her make it how she wanted and she is super excited to stand at the side of the road waving at potential customers.  We think her outfit and adorable smile will draw them all in!

Elizabeth has also decided that she wants to try a few new things with her hair.  Her is our first attempt at a fishtail french braid.  It turned out pretty good and she loved it.

We also enjoyed some time at the spray park in town.  Cera convinced Elizabeth to go under the dump bucket and promised she wouldn't get wet.  Cera even cuddled her in close to keep her safe.  What a great sister!  After Cera did it a few time with Elizabeth, she was brave enough to try it on her own and loved it!  Maybe next year she'll try standing in front of it and getting wet!

Emilee went on her hot date with Dad this month and they headed out fishing!  She caught a few fish and was pretty excited!  We also think she looks pretty cute in her waders and polarized sunglasses!

We were also invited out to Ken and Peggy's for a fun afternoon with their granddaughter and then dinner.  The girls were able to ride the horses for a bit and really enjoyed it.

Peggy is so great to let the girls experience these fun things and also teaches them as they ride.  It was a great day with wonderful company!

We also enjoyed a beautiful evening at the lake with Brenda.  The girls have been missing them since they moved so it was nice to get a visit in before summer.

It's been a good month so far and we look forward to some more fun!
