We love having friends come over to play in the summer! We enjoy running around the backyard, splashing in the pool and playing on the play set. And no hot day is complete without a freezie!!
Cera has found her new favorite spot to sit - those monkey bars are good for more than just swinging!
Aunt Tori and Uncle Tyler took the girls out to a movie one night so Mom and Dad headed out for dinner and to pick up a surprise present for the girls! We found a used trampoline - the girls and Dad have wanted one for some time. We got it most of the way setup before Elizabeth got home. (The other two girls were at their sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's house to help watch Mike when G&G head to the work at the temple super early in the morning!)
Mom finished setting up the net in the morning before we went to get Cera and Emilee. They were pretty excited when they got home and Elizabeth showed them the surprise in the backyard! They played on it all day!
On Sunday after church, our family headed outside to enjoy the tramp some more. Mom was teaching the girls the joy of the bum drop game. We had a hard time with timing though so not too many of the girls got double bounced into the air. So then the game became Mom double bouncing the girls - what a workout!! To our surprise we found out Dad has not been on a trampoline before! It was entertaining to watch him get on the tramp and learn at the same time as the girls.
For our family home evening activity we drew pictures together. We started with our big sheets of paper, we drew one part of the picture and then passed our paper onto the next person to add one thing to the picture. It was fun to see the creativity of the girls and the final pictures.
The girls have decided they want to run with Mom some nights. Don't they look cute all ready to exercise!
We absolutely love having friends over to play!! We had Aunt Tori come over with the 2 girls she nannies and Aunt Jadi and her kids. It was so much fun!! They liked putting the sprinkler under the tramp for awhile and then when Mom said it was enough, they used buckets to transfer water from the pool onto the tramp. What a great day!
Sadly while we were busy playing and having fun our dishwasher was leaking. It might have been leaking for awhile and finally reached it's end point. Mom noticed a puddle under the dishwasher, cleaned it up and turned off the dishwasher for the moment not thinking too much of it. After things died down for the day she looked closer and realized it was leaking. Dad was out of town (of course all bigger, crazy things happen when Dad's gone) so we called Grandpa to come up and help. While Grandpa was replacing old pipes and hoses, Mom headed downstairs to turn off the power to the dishwasher - what she found was a bit scary!!
Dad's ceiling was FULL of water! It was actually starting to bow the ceiling! Mom asked Grandpa to come take a look with her. It was decided it would be best to poke a little hole with a screwdriver to let it drain out and then we could decide what to do with the ceiling later. It drained for a long time with lots and lots of water filling the bucket! We left the bucket over night to catch anymore that would come out.
After Dad got home we decided to pull part of the ceiling down so it would dry better up there and prevent mold from growing. At some point we will decide if we will pull all the ceiling down and replace it with drop tile or to just patch the section that is wreaked. It will be a big job but we are so grateful for the small mercies in this case. We are grateful that it was noticed when it was and that Dad's ceiling held up long enough for us to drain it. It was so close to giving way and that would have created so many more issues in his filled to capacity computer room! We are also grateful that Grandpa was in town to help with Dad was away. Lots of things to be grateful for even in bad circumstances!
