Road Trip!

We had planned a surprise trip to Utah with Grandma - she thought we were headed to Montana for a weekend.  While Mom was finishing up packing and getting ready, Dad took the girls to the stampede breakfast.  They loved the balloon animals they got and treat bags.

Then they headed to Home Depot to participate in Kids Club again.  This time they made minion scooters.  They did great work again!

They came home with their cool creations and new minion hats!  Super fun and cute!

Then we jumped in the car and went to pick up Grandma.  As we started to drive the girls sang Grandma a song Cera had come up with.  It went to the tune of Joy to the World and the words were, "Thank you, thank you for coming shopping with us, thank you so much.  But we would like to go some where even farther.  Like to Salt Lake City, like to Salt Lake City for a week to see Aunt Wendy."  Grandma replied with "Yes that would be fun, we should do that some day."  It took us a few minutes after the song to convince Grandma we were serious and that's where we were actually headed.  She was so shocked and concerned she hadn't packed for a week.  We told her we had that covered and had packed her some extras.  It was so fun to surprise her and we were glad we could keep it a secret for so long.

Because we didn't leave until the afternoon we had booked a hotel part way down.  We enjoyed dinner at the girls favorite buffet and then had a nice swim at the hotel.

All the girls enjoyed the all you can eat desserts but Emilee seemed to show it the most!  What a silly girl!

We woke up for breakfast and a swim before we headed onto Wendy's house.  Elizabeth decided she wanted to stay in her PJs for the drive.  What a great Mom letting her do it and then taking her into McDonald's to play in the playplace for a bit in her PJs!

Mom had packed a few presents/surprises for the girls to open on the long trip down.  The girls had fun with the stick on mustaches.  It was a great trip and we look forward to a fun week!!
