Camping with Cousins

Another year of camping with cousins!  We had a blast, enjoyed great weather and played hard!  The kids love playing at the park.  While the kids played Mom would run around the  area.  It worked great for everyone!

Of course we enjoyed an ice cream cone or two!  It's fun to see how much the kids have changed over the years of camping.

We enjoyed a lot of beach time.  The kids played in the water, built in the sand and laid in the sun.  This is summer life!!

Because of all of the hot weather there were fire bans in BC so we had to get creative for our s'mores.  The flame on the oven worked great as long as we didn't get our marshmallows too close.

Camping just isn't camping without a s'more!  We enjoyed having Mike and Grandma come to visit and enjoy them with us.

The kids loved to play all day and didn't want to go to sleep at night but at times sleep wins out!  Elizabeth just couldn't keep her eyes open for her movie.  She's so cute!

Cera liked to stand up in the kayak and paddle.  She said it was fun and a good workout.

Ice cream in our jammies tastes so yummy!!

We weren't sure if Emilee got more ice cream in her tummy or on her face - silly Em!  She did surprise us though by eating an entire double scoop - we never thought she'd finish it all!

There are lots of little, medium size and big critters that can be found in the lake.  The kids decided to try to catch a crayfish.  They spent a long time watching and deciding how and who was going to catch it.

They finally caught one in their bucket and were so excited.  (Too excited for the mom's to tell them that it wasn't moving at all!)

Mom built a sand castle with Elizabeth so of course we needed a picture!

It's not a week at the lake without some jumping off the dock!  It's fun to watch the kids try to jump off at the same time and then do different jumps on their own.

Check out that hang time!!  Nice jump Emilee!  Elizabeth was still a little nervous to jump in from the end but was a great support and audience for the others.

Cera liked to jump in but also would try spins.

There was lots of time spent on the kayak but the kids were great at taking turns.

Mom took the crew on a trip or two in the canoe.  We love our boat full!!

When we got close to shore our boat would get much more empty as the passengers would jump overboard to swim to shore.

Most days Mom would go for a run around the lake.  The girls loved it because it meant Mom would jump into the lake after to cool down and swim with them for a bit.

The weather on our last day was nice but too windy to head to the lake for a swim.  Instead we decided to stop at the park in Fernie.  We enjoyed lunch there and the kids played for awhile.  We also had to take the standard picture in the train!  It's almost made it into the tradition file.

We just love spending our summer with family and friends and camping and playing.  We are so blessed!
