Museum of Ancient Life

Aunt Wendy is the best!  She took the week off work when we were down so she could hang out and play with us.  She also has all the best hookups at Thanksgiving Point and shared them with us.  We had so much fun on this trip - a lot of playing!  Our first outing was to the dinosaur museum.  The special display is huge sculptures made from balloons.  It is currently this super cool lighthouse and yes those are all balloons!

Dinosaurs were everywhere!  We have come to the museum before but now that the girls are older they had more/different fun.

The water and sand table is always popular!  The girls had fun and Cera did great at making sure Adi (her cousin to some degree) was happy.

Emilee and Grandma took their time and enjoyed all the parts of the museum. Emilee was so proud of her and Grandma getting this whole dinosaur together.  Way to go!

Last time we were here the girls took their picture on this dinosaur so they wanted an updated picture.

It was great to see Grandma relaxed and reading all the signs that she wanted.  This is what a vacation is all about - slow, relaxed and enjoying every little thing!  The girls enjoyed some special time with Grandma too.

So relaxed that they weren't even concerned about the shark about to eat them!!

Elizabeth thought it was so funny to put her head in the sharks mouth.  Her personality is so fun that is developing and coming out more and more each day!

Of course we had to be paleontologists and dig for some bones.

We decided to spend a little extra and go to "school" at the little paleo lab.  The girls made some casts - Elizabeth got a little casting powder on her face!  Haha

They had to mix up their powder and then pour it into the item they wanted to cast.  They had fun!

Next up was picking a rock to drill for fish fossils.  They were given some hints of how to find the best rock.

Then they starting using the actual drills.  They were a bit nervous at first but got the hang of it and did a pretty good job.  Elizabeth enlisted Moms help and Emilee had Grandma help just a little bit.  Way to go girls - you are ready to head out and become paleontologists!!

What visit is complete without a stop at the ice cream shop!  The girls enjoyed their flavors and had more than enough to fill them.

We also enjoyed a get together with some more family while in the States.  We had a dinner at Grandma Val's daughters house.  It was great weather and we enjoyed a beautiful view while we ate.  The girls enjoyed playing with some other kids and jumping on their tramp.  It was a good end to a great day!
