Pysanky

We decided to try something new this year - pysanky!  We signed up for a class and went with no expectations.  Well, we all had so much fun!  Elizabeth was even able to do most of it by herself once she got the hang of it!

It seemed the longest part was deciding how to decorate the eggs.  There were some great design ideas but a little out of reach for our new knowledge.

The girls were very focused and did an amazing job!

Elizabeth had the teacher help her melt the wax off at the very end.  It's the most exciting part - seeing your final work.

Cera and Emilee melting off their wax.  You don't want to burn your egg or cook the insides but you want to make sure you get all the wax off to show your hard work.

We were excited with our final products - with a little extra dye on our hands!

Cera finished hers off with purple instead of black.  She put a sun, stars and a moon on her egg.  It turned out beautiful!

We had a great night!  We have found a new thing we love and might change our Easter egg decorating in the future!
