You'd think that as the girls get older some traditions wouldn't be as fun anymore - not so with Easter egg decorating. They love it more and more each year it seems! They can spend hours decorating their eggs and get so creative! This year we decided to try making egg drying holders. Sadly we couldn't find foam boards (that weren't going to cost us way too much) so we tried the florist foam. It worked if Mom got the nails pushed in just right which wasn't all of them for sure....but the girls seemed to have enough to make it work.
Elizabeth loved the partial dipping to get a two-toned egg. They turned out very pretty!
She had a very nice collection at the end. Good work toothless!
As the girls get older Mom is way less involved too - she's just in charge of getting the supplies, boiling the eggs and setting the girls up and then she's not really needed anymore. It's good but a little sad too - and with less needed, she gets sidetracked with other jobs like making dinner and doesn't get too many pictures.
Emilee was pretty creative drawing with crayon her eggs so the color wouldn't stick. She also used some paper and glue to finish up some designs like her carrot egg.
Emilee also made a few with the fun stickers we had - a skiing emoji and a fish complete with a paper fin that you can't see on the back.
Cera finished some also but didn't really care for any pictures. She was happy to share a few of her dozen eggs with her sisters as she put a lot of time into each egg and wasn't up for doing all of them. It was a fun evening for the girls and Mom and Dad will enjoy eating the boiled eggs over the next week or so!
