The girls didn't have school on April Fools' Day so we decided to head to the science centre for some fun! We enjoy a science bite where they shot things using liquid nitrogen and this cannon behind the girls. They thought it was pretty awesome! Cera really wanted to take some liquid nitrogen home! Too bad the lid didn't seem to stay on any container we had to take it home in.
The science centre was pretty quiet as the schools in the city still have school on our days off so the girls had lots of time to build using playing cards, toothpicks and hot glue guns. It was nice for them to not feel rushed and let their creative minds go. Elizabeth was very proud of her teepee as she called it.
Also with way less kids climbing on the slide outside Elizabeth got brave and went up to the first level. She didn't venture up anymore but had fun running around this level and swinging on the ropes. Maybe one day she'll climb to the top and slide down the 63' slide but for today this was a huge step!
We decided to go to a dome theater show on today's visit - Mysteries of the Unseen World. It showed phenomena that can't be seen with the naked eye due to time and scale. It was very interesting and we learned a few gross things that we didn't really want to think about.
After our fun and learning at the science centre we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's for a little April Fools fun. We took them a pan of brown-e's!! Great Grandpa Palmer, who happened to be there also, wasn't too happy we didn't have some real brownies! (Don't worry - we made some the next day and took them up!)
Dad was able to have some of his own April Fools enjoyment - a day of fishing! Check out the fish he tricked into eating his bug instead of a real one!! Way to go Dad!
